Tom Denman is a freelance art critic based in London.
His writing has appeared in Art Journal, ART PAPERS, ArtReview, Art Monthly, Burlington Contemporary, Flash Art and Studio International.
He holds a PhD in Italian Studies from the University of Reading, for which he wrote his thesis on Caravaggio and the noble-intellectual community in seventeenth-century Naples. While carrying out his doctoral research, he enrolled at the Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II and worked as a cataloguer of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Italian books at the British Library.
